Saturn (NSST)

Authors: Jakob Selbing
Object: Saturn
Exposure: 50 x 200 ms (?)
Equipment: Kodak Megaplus 1.6i through 1-meter New Swedish Solar Tower (NSST)

Comment: Although a rather unconventional target, Saturn is clearly resolved by the New Swedish Solar Tower at the international observation site on the island of La Palma, Canary Islands. Unfortunately the adaptive optics of the telescope could not lock on Saturn, due to the low surface brightness, compared to the Sun. The diffraction limit is around 0.1", which is quite far from the resolution of this image.
