M57 - image 2

Authors: Magnus Nyborg, Jakob Selbing
Object: M57, Ring nebula
Exposure: 8 x 120 s(= 16 min), manually guided at 160x magnification.
Equipment: MX5-C through Meade LX200 at f/10.

Comment: This image is the result of 8 exposures, each 2 mins, that have been digitally processed. We would have done more exposures if clouds hadn't obscured our view of the famous nebula.

This image also showed that the telescope in fact can be manually guided with such precision to allow imaging at relatively long focal lengths (3000 mm).
